Delivery almost always means fewer channels than you worked in. Downmix reduces an ambisonic field to a lower order or to a channel layout, with the choices visible rather than assumed.
The point is that you decide what is lost, instead of finding out afterwards.
Take any field down to the order you have to ship.
Fold to a speaker layout when the deliverable is channels.
The reduction is stated, not silently applied.
