Raise a field to a higher order in development
A first-order recording has less spatial detail than a modern chain can carry. Recast takes it up, using virtual spaced-array cues rather than a plain matrix, so the result has depth as well as sharpness.
It cannot invent what was never recorded. It can stop the encode throwing away what was.
Any order to any higher order.
Virtual array spacing supplies the cues a matrix cannot.
Reads what is arriving instead of trusting the channel count.
