The free tools get you into ambisonics. Kuules is what you make once you are there: worlds that are synthesised in the field, a real place for every sound, and shaping by direction — 30 plugins, up to 10th order, Six of them free.
Pick the work you do; each bundle says why every plugin in it is there.
Wind, rain, water, fire, birds, thunder, electricity, the sea's depths: synthesised in higher-order ambisonics, every part placed, fitted to recordings, never repeating. As far as we know, nothing else generates them in the field at all.
Distance with its air, a room every track shares, the outdoors as a place, and a reverb whose decay and tone are set per tier — where the usual choice is a shoebox or one decay time.
EQ, unmasking, dynamics and colour that know where a sound is — by direction and by tier, transients shaped in the field, the image held still.
Encoding, analysis, order reduction, loudness and the shared source are free, because you need them and they should be. You pay for what is not available anywhere else.
The generators start from the acoustics literature and are tuned against real recordings from the BBC Sound Effects archive. Every plugin is tested again, automatically, every time anything changes.
